SmartAccess App Branding

Brand design and promotional pieces for social networks for application of access control to residences through QR code.

To comply with my non-disclosure agreement, I have omitted and obfuscated confidential information in this case study.
All information in this case study is my own and does not necessarily reflect the views of the team.

Problem

The company had developed an application that allowed to control access and all information related to visits through QR codes generated by the application, allowed to control employees who accessed their residences, expedited the process of entering private developments and parties.

It was a good application and very useful, but the logo had been designed by one of the developers and did not represent the attributes of the brand.

Business Objectives

Design a corporate identity according to the quality of the product.

Goals

  • 1. Have a logo and a professional corporate identity.
  • 2. That the brand reflected the premises of trust and security that the company had.

My Role

I was the only designer in charge of designing all the Corporate Identity of the brand, the logo, design system, color scheme, typographies to be used in the websites and advertisements of the brand, photographic selection and slogans of the campaigns.

Branding Design Process

The client expressed his desire that the App reflect concepts such as security, family, protection, home, access, so the first step was to create a moodboard based on these concepts to get inspiration.

With the ideas and images from the moodboard, I took my Ipad to start drawing sketches focused on the isotype that would be the future icon of the app.

I selected the best sketches and made the vector versions, I started testing them as life-size icons within the smartphone interface and within the app store.

I took the two best versions with the best readability even in small sizes, I used two typefaces without serif and I tested the isotype together with the typography, I also tried two different color palettes.

I made the tests in black, in negative and reducing it, I recommended the use of the one that represented a roof because it transmitted access, home, security, and the orange colors evoked warmth and energy.

The logo was selected based on the fact that it evokes access, the isotype is easily recognizable even in small sizes and the roof has some similarity to the access letter "A".

My featured contribution

Build trust

The most important thing for a brand that offers security systems is to win the trust of the users, so the color palette, iconography, typography, copy and images were selected to evoke security and convey the right message to users.

Visual Design

I also made many advertising pieces to be published on Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and other networks, I also designed the onboarding animations within the app and also the promotional images for the app stores.
